If you're a TorrentFlux seedbox user, you probably already know there aren't too many options for downloading your completed torrent files back to a home PC through a browser. Natively in TFlux, files need to be downloaded one-by-one with the option to download full folders - also done one at a time.  When used in unison, both FlashGet and FlashGot are very TorrentFlux-friendly; entire directory contents can be scanned & imported (and downloaded) without all the excess junk - as long as the FlashGot filter is applied correctly.

Why FlashGet/FlashGot offer unparalleled advantages for seedbox downloading:

• If you're suffering from a slow Internet connection, you'll be able to queue up a virtually unlimited number of files in FlashGet from one or multiple TorrentFlux directories.

• In TorrentFlux web downloading, when a file is interrupted in the middle of a download you'll need to start from zero again. Which is particularly painful when downloading full folders & large files. FlashGet will re-try the incomplete files for you.

• FTP transfer speeds are often less than optimal from a seedbox back to home PC. Worse yet, some hosting providers don't allow FTP multithreading, or may even limit the number of simultaneous FTP connections.

• FlashGet supports multithreading, meaning if you only download 1 file at a time - it will pull 5 threads on that one file simultaneously, the same as 5 downloads running at once.

What You'll Need...

1. First, you'll need Mozilla Firefox, a web-browser.

2. You'll need to install FlashGet, a download manager. The latest version 1.9.6 works well. Download and install.

3. You'll also need FlashGot (for Firefox). FlashGot is a Firefox extension that works with external download managers such as FlashGet, and also works with other DL managers. Install the addon, and restart Firefox.

1.) Applying the FlashGot Filter

If you've ever tried a download manager within a TorrentFlux directory, you've probably noticed that it will attempt to pick up every single link (including php files, 'delete' links, index pages, etc). In fact, they'll attempt to download just about everything except the files you want.

1a. The most important segment of this tutorial is to apply a filter into FlashGot that will bypass all the junk in a TorrentFlux download directory. To do this, right-click anywhere in a Firefox browser page (it doesn't matter where) and choose "FlashGot Options" and then select "More Options...".

1b. The first tab "General" should display FlashGet as the default download manager. Click the "Downloads" tab and add the word "down" to the file extensions field, and click Add. It's also a good idea to put a tick in 'Apply file extension filter to batch downloads too'. Click OK to finish.

The filter is now properly configured. Only the actual "files" in any TorrentFlux directory or subdirectory will be added into FlashGet.

2.) FlashGot Downloading in TorrentFlux

TIP: It's recommended to keep your seedbox TFlux page running in a browser instance during FlashGet downloading, and turn ON the 'page refresh' function.

In TFlux, go into one of your downloaded torrent folders. This can be done through the 'Directory' menu at the top, or by clicking the yellow folder next to a torrent on the main TFlux index page. Once in, you'll see a complete list of all files in the torrent. Right-click, and select "FlashGot All".

Next, click the "Choose" link.

Now, click the "All" button - then click "OK". In the example below there is only one type of file (AVI). In the event that you're downloading scene releases, there'll be archived RAR, R00, NFO, SFV files and others. "All" will capture... well, all of them.

Click OK again - this will open the 'add new download' window for FlashGet. Here you can change settings and download paths, if preferred. Select OK to add files into FlashGet.

Your files will now begin downloading simultaneously - notice the progress percent on the right side:

In the example above, we set FlashGet to download 8 files at the same time (but the default is just 3). To change this, go into FlashGet and select Tools > Options. Click on the 'Connection' tab, and change the Max simultaneous jobs from 3 to 8. Click OK to save.

That's it! You can also go into another directory in TorrentFlux, and add files from there, as well - they'll join the queue in FlashGet.
