Stopping & Deleting Torrent Jobs

To stop a torrent, simply click on the red square button - be advised that both the .torrent and finished files will still exist on your server. The red X button beside the Stop button will remove the actual .torrent file and terminate the job, but the finished files also still exist on your server.

Enabling the 'Multi Operation' Feature

Depending on how TorrentFlux is configured, you may or may not have a multi-operation dropdown menu underneath your torrents. This allows for a variety of tasks, including batch jobs (the same tasks for multiple selected torrents). While not necessary for TFlux functionality, it's very handy to have on the main TFlux frontend page.

Multi-operation Functionality in TorrentFlux

Multi operations can be used to stop & delete multiple torrent jobs, among other tasks. Simply put checkmarks in the boxes of the torrents you wish to process, and select an option from the dropdown menu. Clicking "Go" completes the action. From the screenshot above, here is a list of the available tasks:

  • Start — Will start the selected torrent(s)
  • Stop — Stops the selected torrents(s)
  • Delete — Will delete the torrent and the job from the list.
  • Delete with Data — Will delete the torrent, the job, and the finished files from your server. Using the "Delete" function does not free up your seedbox for more space (more torrents), whereas the "Delete with Data" function does, thus it's crucial to know the difference.
  • Reset Totals — This will reset the amount of data uploaded & downloaded for the torrent (back to 0), but this is not a permanent change. Also, the progress will also be reset to 0.00%. However, the totals will reset themselves back to the true statistics the next time TorrentFlux refreshes the page. Its primary function is meant to present the real stats for the torrent.
  • Wipe — As it suggests, wipes out any and all reference to the torrent & downloaded files.

If you do not see the multi operations feature, you'll need to enable it in the TFlux settings. To do this, go into Admin at the top right corner, then click the "index" tab.

Next, scroll down to where it lists "Multi Operations:" and set this to True. Be sure to click the Update Settings button at the bottom of the window. Return to the TFlux frontend (main page), where it will now be listed.

Delete vs. Delete With Data

Knowing the difference between the Delete and Delete with Data feature is very important, since all seedboxes will have some sort of limitation for how much storage is available (hard drive space) on the server. Using Delete will only remove the torrent job, but the files (data) will still remain on the server in your directory, taking up precious space. Delete with Data will remove the torrent & all files, freeing up your storage. Be advised that this action is a permanent removal, and not undoable.
